Interpretation
A positive test for Anti-PR3 has a high positive value for Wegener's granulomatosis (WG); fewer that 2% of positive results occur in patients who do not have WG. The presence of Anti-PR3 is a specific diagnostic indicator of WG and is found in more than 80% of patients with active WG.
A negative result for Anti-PR3 diminishes the likelihood that a patient has active WG; but approximately 20% of patients with WG may test negative for Anti-PR3.
Clinical Utility
Useful for evaluating patients suspected of having Wegener's granulomatosis (WG).
